Creating a kick - ass Etsy store
Posted on August 19 2015
Etsy can be an incredible tool in selling your handmade items online. Setting up shop can be a bit difficult and learning the tools of the trade can be a daunting task. When I first decided to do something on Etsy, I thought Jewelry was the way to go. And while Jewelry certainly would have been a higher profit per sale, I am so glad it didn't work out! I truly enjoy spreading my colorful sense of humor in the cards, mugs, and paper products I create.
I decided to create a blog and post about my experiences because I hope I can help a few of you through your own Etsy shop journey. It takes a lot of work and dedication to continually grow your shop and not accept the status quo of a couple orders trickling in every few days. As of today, I have been open for close to 10 months. I have a 5 star rating and over 176 reviews and 616 sales. This month has actually been my highest number of sales and profit and there are still 12 more days in the month!
I am not going to lie and say things have been easy. I'll be as blunt as I can and say it again. It takes a whole lot of fucking work and commitment to run a shop that continually grows. But with the commitment to yourself and to your journey- you can totally do it! You've got this!
In a day, I'll be co-hosting a webinar with the creators of Marmalead. It's an incredibly powerful app for Etsy that allows you to find some of the best keywords and titles to use for your listings. If you are one of the hundreds that signed up for the class- please let me know in the comments what you thought about the class! (Hopefully I didn't make too much of an ass outta myself.....)
And if you are interested in using Marmalead yourself- you can sign up here: https://marmalead.com/flwc
Basically, this is my intro as to why I am starting to host webinars and write about Etsy. I think it can be an empowering journey- running your own business and watching it grow. I'm hoping we can take this journey together and you'll allow me to help you find what works best for you and your shop!
(Oh yea and if you didn't know - there is no magic, special, golden set of rules that are guaranteed to succeed. Each business is different and so are you! But there are some universal things that can help you head in the best way possible for you. The rest is totally up to you!)
